Welcome Note

Welcome to Journal of Islamic Thought and Contemporary Studies (JITCS). This journal is an academic platform published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Cordoba Islamic University of Banyuwangi. CJIT focuses on scholarly works in the fields of Qur’anic Studies, Hadith, Islamic Philosophy, Theology, and Contemporary Islamic Thought. The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual studies, book reviews, and critical reflections that contribute to the intellectual development of Islamic thought in local, national, and global contexts.

Scope of the Journal

·         Qur’anic and Tafsir Studies
Studies on Qur’anic interpretation (classical, modern, and contemporary), hermeneutics, and thematic approaches.

·         Hadith and Prophetic Tradition Studies
Research on hadith methodology, textual criticism, and contextual application in the modern era.

·         Islamic Philosophy and Theology
Explorations of kalam, tasawwuf, ethics, metaphysics, and philosophical traditions in Islam.

·         Contemporary Islamic Thought
Critical discussions on Islam and modernity, social transformation, politics, economics, education, and environmental ethics.

·         Comparative Studies and Interdisciplinary Approaches
Studies that connect Islamic thought with humanities, social sciences, and global issues.

Publication Frequency

This journal is published twice a year (June and December) and adopts an Open Access Policy, allowing unrestricted access for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the general public.

Call for Papers

We invite authors to submit their best scholarly works through the Open Journal System (OJS) available on this website. Each submission will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure originality, academic quality, and relevance.
