Abstract

This study discusses al-aṣīl wa al-dakhīl in Qur'anic exegesis, which is an analysis to differentiate between authentic (al-aṣīl) and contaminated interpretations (al-dakhīl) that lack valid sources. Throughout the history of exegesis, many interpretations have incorporated elements that contradict the principles of Islam, including ideologies from outside Islam and invalid narrations. The term al-dakhīl refers to ideas and theories infiltrating Qur'anic exegesis that lack legitimate foundations or contradict Islamic teachings. This research uses a qualitative analytical approach with a descriptive method to identify, classify, and analyze various forms of al-dakhīl in Qur'anic exegesis. The main data sources for this research are classical and contemporary exegesis literature, along with works by scholars addressing the phenomenon of infiltration in interpretation. This study also highlights the importance of clear understanding of authentic sources of exegesis (al-aṣīl) in order to differentiate between correct and invalid interpretations. The findings of this study indicate that infiltration in Qur'anic exegesis takes various forms, ranging from the infiltration of foreign ideologies to the spread of fabricated hadiths and isrā'īliyyāt. This research concludes that to preserve the purity of Qur'anic exegesis, it is crucial for exegesis scholars and readers to critically assess and select valid and authentic sources (al-aṣīl).
